An impressive bounce back from the Burleigh Bears has helped them claim the Hostplus Cup minor premiership with a 42-18 victory over the Wynnum Manly Seagulls.
Without a win in the last three weeks, a Tony Francis double helped them get back into the circle of success over last year's grand finalists, knocking the Seagulls out of finals contention whilst claiming the first piece of silverware for the year as they prepare to take on the Norths Devils in the qualifying final this weekend.
For Tweed, they will also progress through the playoffs, finishing in sixth despite going down to the Brisbane Tigers 38-30.
Both will meet each other again this week, but this time with the stakes even high as they square off in the elimination final at Piggabeen, with the clash live on Channel 9 from 3pm.

Tweed Seagulls and Brisbane Tigers will both been part of the finals next weekend, but the Turn to Me Round of the Hostplus Cup would provide an insight into what condition they both arrive.
Tweed had marched from ninth to fifth in the past month and are bubbling away in the background getting ready for finals, while the Tigers had won four of the past five games against Tweed.
