Oskar Bryant plans on being a sponge in 2023.
The young hooker knows he is still in the early stages of his professional career and he plans on using his second pre-season with the Titans as a chance to further grow his game.
Part of the Tweed Seagulls Colts side in 2022, Bryant was also selected in the New South Wales under-19 squad alongside team-mates Tom Weaver and Jaylan De Groot.
After first hitting the field at Parkwood as a fresh faced teenager, Bryant says he feels ready to grasp his opportunities this pre-season.
"It was pretty tough (last year) coming in fresh out of school and straight into training," he said.
"It was good but it was tough at times.
"(This year) you know what you're expecting, but with the new coaching staff that are in you also don't know what is coming.
"There are new drills and stuff to focus on so it's exciting and I'm looking forward to it."
Bryant plans on spending plenty of time with incoming Titans hooker Sam Verrils as he looks to develop his own game.
"He's been in grand finals ... so to be able to pick his brain and his knowledge will be good for me," Bryant said.
"Erin (Clark) and (Aaron) Boothy are good as well, they've got experience playing the nine so it's been good to learn off as they always give 100 per cent."
Bryant has started pre-season alongside Clark in the rehab group, as he makes his way back from ankle surgery.
After getting a taste of top-level rugby league with game time in the Titans pre-season fixture against the Broncos last season, the young rake says he plans on playing more senior football this season.
"It (trial match) was a really good experience and good atmosphere," he said.
"Even though I didn't get on for long, I'll remember that moment.
"Even the ten minutes I was on I was puffing a bit, just the speed of the game and the contact was a whole other level.
"I just want to build myself up to become a better player this pre-season.
"I want to be in the gym every day, get bigger, get fitter and hopefully play Cup next year."
