Home sweet home: Holbrook knows importance of Cbus return

The top three teams on the NRL ladder after week two have had one big advantage in their favour... playing every game at home.

With the Titans yet to run out onto Cbus Super Stadium until this Saturday, coach Justin Holbrook is taking plenty of confidence in getting to return to the Gold Coast's home ground, especially after finishing last season with back-to-back wins at Robina.

"I'm really looking forward to playing at home," he said.

"We played two trials away and played the first two games of the season away so it's great to get back home.

"[Ladder leaders] Manly played home, bye and then home... there's a real difference there and we're looking forward to getting to play at our home stadium for the first time this year."

Bolstered by the return of Brian Kelly from suspension, the strike centre is one of three changes made to tackle the mounting injury crisis the Gold Coast mentor is currently navigating.

"We've had to make a couple through injury with Sam Verrills and Jojo Fifita out, so it's good timing to have Brian Kelly come back in for us," Holbrook said.

"We've also got Joey Vuna coming onto the bench and we're obviously debuting Iszac Fa'asuamaleaui, which is great. He's earned it and he's ready to go, which is terrific for us.

"Last year was a good learning curve for him. He got a number of games in the Q Cup and he started for Burleigh last week and did a really good job there, so he'll make a good impact for us off the bench.

"With Joey, he's like Iszac and earned his opportunity through his own hard work. He has worked really hard and played really big minutes for Tweed last week, which is great.

"We just needed a bit more size on the bench and those two guys bring that and we'll be happy for them to play."

Relishing the mammoth challenge ahead against a Storm outfit looking to avenge last week's disappointing loss, Holbrook's big focus this week has just been on the team themselves after a number of crucial errors against the Dragons last start.

"We know we're going to get a tough opposition coming off a disappointing loss," he said.

"They get a few players back, but that's okay. We've just got to worry about getting our own game right and our combinations.

"We've just got to be ready to go and that's what we'll be ready to do."
