The Titans may have the bye in the NRL, but there's one big game kicking off this weekend everyone in the club is getting excited about.
Dubbed as one of the biggest events in the Gold Coast rugby league calendar, Burleigh and Tweed will lock horns for the 37th time in Hostplus Cup history, with neither team taking bragging rights into the contest after the duo finished their previous encounter having to split the points after 80 minutes.
This has only poured more fuel on the motivation fire as 10 full-time Titans prepare to run out at Piggabeen Sports Complex in what is shaping up to be an epic clash between two top eight favourites - especially given the entire NRL squad has the weekend off and will be primed to see some of their teammates in action.
Tweed will boast six players who regularly call Parkwood home, with Jaylan De Groot, Treymain Spry, Tom Weaver, Toby Sexton, Klese Haas and Sam McIntyre all named for the Seagulls.
The clash will be particularly important for the pair of young playmakers who have been tasked with steering the ship given Kieran Foran's injury, with both eager to impress Justin Holbrook in the hope of gaining an NRL call-up.
On the other side of the fence, Keano Kini has been named despite battling a bump to his hip. Should he play, he'll be joined by Tony Francis, Jacob Alick and Josiah Pahulu who all form part of the undefeated Burleigh Bears, fresh from a classy 36-10 outing against last season's beaten grand finalists at home.
Many rugby league pundits will be eager to see 18-year-old Pahulu in action again after an incredible Hostplus Cup debut last weekend - his 45 minute stint seeing the Australian Schoolboy run an impressive 153 metres and making four tackle breaks.
Kick-off is at 3.15pm (AEST) on Saturday at Piggabeen Sports Complex.
