'We let them have it easy': Schoupp's stern warning to home town rivals

Aaron Schoupp might be Illawarra born and bred, but that won't have any effect on the new Titans centre when he takes to the field against the Dragons.

In fact, the 21-year-old has issued a stern warning to his home town ahead of this Sunday's showdown at Cbus Super Stadium, especially with the Red V getting one over the Gold Coast in Round 2.

"We didn't show them how good of a team we were last time we played them," Schoupp admitted.

"We let them have it too easy, so we're definitely going to have a different mentality going into this game."

Conceding his side were beaten in the middle with the Red V running for more than 500 metres more than the Titans - allowing for 150 extra post-contact metres in their previous encounter, there is no doubt that disappointing performance will be in the back of the Titans' minds, with Schoupp revealing it has provided plenty of motivation to chalk up back-to-back wins at home.

"It was tough last time and they obviously did one on us," he said.

"Whilst we've just focused on ourselves, in the back of our mind we know that we've got to get one back on them and get a bit square with them.

"I think last time, they went through our middle a little bit and we sort of fell apart, so this week, we've been focusing on that a lot and just trying to bash them up through the middle."

It's been a strong start in new colours for the former Bulldog - averaging 112 run metres a game - and the outside back is excited to get back to Cbus Super Stadium for his second home game of the season after a player of the match performance against the Storm in Round 3.

Titans go long range

"The atmosphere at Cbus with all the fans for our home game and it being Easter weekend, hopefully we can put on a performance for them," Schoupp said.

"I didn't realise how loud it can be at Cbus and it can get quite packed, so it's always good playing in front of our home fans.

The Dragons did one on us in front of their one of their fans, so hopefully we can do it to them."
