Double derby delight to start Titans NRLW season

The Titans will kick-start their upcoming NRLW season with back-to-back Queensland derbies, as revealed in the release of the 2023 season draw today.

Part of four home games to be hosted at Cbus Super Stadium this year, the Gold Coast will begin their campaign against new North Queensland rivals the Cowboys in a double header on Saturday, July 22 to coincide with club’s Round 21 NRL battle against the Roosters.

The Titans will then travel to Brisbane for the local derby against the Broncos at The Gabba on Thursday, July 27.

After trips to Sydney and Newcastle, the side will return home in Round 5 to face the tricolours, before further games at Cbus in Rounds 7 (Tigers) and 8 (Eels); with the penultimate round being a standalone NRLW double header at home.

Coach Karyn Murphy is excited for the release of the draw, which see the Titans play more than half of the regular season matches in Queensland in 2023.

“It feels real now and it’s super exciting that we’ve got four home games here at Cbus and then one up the road at The Gabba,” she said.

“There’s a lot of games for our family, friends and fans to come along and watch this year and we’ll be playing three of our games as double headers with our NRL side.

“To play locally and get the support from everyone here on the Coast will be really important and I can’t wait for the season to start in mid-July with our first game a Queensland derby against the Cowboys.”

In conjunction with the draw release, the Titans have also officially launched their NRLW membership for 2023 which includes a reserved seat to all four double headers and an exclusive NRLW member t-shirt - click here to join the Legion for 2023.
