Titans sit top of table after five rounds

The Gold Coast Titans sit on top of Netball Queensland Sapphire Series ladder after the first five rounds, with the team's strong start to the season continuing over a double-header weekend.

The Titans defeated the Wildcats 55 goals to 49 in round four, before backing up with a strong 63 goals to 38 win against the Tigers the following day.

The results see the Titans with four wins from four fixtures after also completing the first of their bye fixtures in round one.

Titans Coach Temepara Bailey says she's pleased to have claimed maximum points from the double-header weekend.

"I'm really happy with the weekend, but we still have plenty of things to work on as well," she said.

"It was great to welcome back Kristen Oxenford for her first game of the season.

"After having a baby, she has worked really hard and done plenty of rehab in the off-season and we're really excited to welcome her back.

"We are a squad of 11, we really are a full team and not just a starting line-up, so to have all of our players now fit and available is great for us."

The Titans next play the Sunshine Coast Thunder in round six, with the club back on the Gold Coast for blockbuster home fixtures later in the season.
