Lenihan appointed interim coach

Gold Coast CEO Steve Mitchell has confirmed assistant coach Jim Lenihan will become the interim Titans coach for the remainder of the 2023 season.

Lenihan joined the Titans in 2020 as a highly-credentialed coach in his own right, making the move to Parkwood after mentoring Burleigh to Queensland Cup victory in 2019 – his second premiership title during his time at the Bears.

"[Incoming coach] Des [Hasler] won’t start in the role officially until the pre-season for 2024 so Jim Lenihan will move up and take over as the interim head coach for the remainder of the season," Mitchell told media on Thursday.

The Titans are continuing preparations for Sunday's derby clash against the Broncos on Sunday at Suncorp Stadium.
