Dolphins to head to Cbus Super Stadium for first time

The Titans will make history when they take on the Dolphins for the first time at Cbus Super Stadium this Sunday afternoon.

Dubbed the 'Sunshine Showdown' these two sides make up the newest Queensland rivalry and key players in both sides will ensure there is more than two points on the line.

While the sides met in the pre-season and then again round eight, it will be the first time the NRL's newest side has come to the home of the Titans.

In their previous meetings, the Titans were the dominant side in pre-season and for the first 33 minutes of their round eight match, before one the biggest comebacks in NRL history.

And it will be a record the Titans will be looking to move quickly past.

This showdown will be the Titans time to 'get even' after jumping out to a 26-point lead and then being run down by Wayne Bennett's Dolphins.

The day wont just be about the NRL match though, as the first curtain raiser will see a Hostplus Cup match played for the Liam Hampson Cup when Tweed Seagulls and the Redcliffe Dolphins open the day (discover more here).

This will be followed by an All Stars charity match between the Titans All Stars and Dolphins All Stars with funds being raised for injured Future Titans and Redcliffe Dolphins player, Joseph Pouniu (discover more here).

The history of the Dolphins in the NRL could have been so different, however, with the Gold Coast franchise winning its NRL bid under the Gold Coast Dolphins name, only for court proceedings from the Redcliffe Dolphins to protect the moniker seeing the Gold Coast community vote for the Titans.

So with so much in such a short history Sunday is said to be a day not to be missed. Buy Tickets.
