Sexton to depart Titans

The Gold Coast Titans can confirm that halfback Toby Sexton has been granted an immediate release from his contract to take up an opportunity in Sydney.

Sexton has played 24 NRL games for the Titans after making his debut at the club in 2021.

Despite only managing one NRL game this season, Sexton has continued to make his mark in his local community, culminating with the Titans recognising his off-field efforts by nominating him for the 2023 Ken Stephen Medal.

Titans interim coach Jim Lenihan says he leaves with the club’s best wishes.

“Toby has been a wonderful clubman and is a great young man who has been given a chance to play more first grade football,” Lenihan said.

“He’s decided to take up an opportunity at the Bulldogs and we didn’t want to stand in his way.

“I hope he grabs the opportunity in front of him and finishes the year off strongly and we thank him for all of his efforts while at the Titans.”
