Kieran Foran knows first-hand how threatening Shaun Johnson will be this Friday night when the Titans host the Warriors at Cbus Super Stadium.

Playing 27 games together - including 13 in the NRL and 13 Tests - the 32-year-old has relished the skill and sublimity of the Kiwi star - much like what SJ has delivered this year in his second season back with the Wahs, who are on the verge of a top four finish.

Watching from afar, the Titans No. 6 feels it's his old halves partner who has really been a key to their resurgence, helping lift the players around him to be the dominant force they have been in 2023.

'It's a really good opportunity for us': Foran

"He's been great and I think everyone has said it for themselves that he's in career-best form and he's been a great player for a long, long time," Foran said.

"Shaun's played at a very high level for a number of seasons now, but he's playing as well and as consistent as I've ever seen him play and I think the Warriors are reaping the benefits of that.

"They're playing really well as a side collectively. A lot of the guys in that team are in great form and that's why they're sitting where they're sitting at the moment."

Match highlights: Titans v Cowboys

But whilst the Warriors are coming into this Friday's Round 23 clash with a plethora of momentum, so are the Gold Coast who came from behind in a second half shutout to clinch a commanding 22-13 win over North Queensland in their last start.

"[That win] has given us a huge amount of confidence," Foran said.

"It's been a tough month for us before the weekend with a couple of really close losses, and it was quite deflating... but to go out there and knock off a red-hot Cowboys team just shows where we can be as a footy team and where we need to be on a consistent basis.

"I want to see us back it up this weekend against the in-form Warriors."

The complete 80-minute showing has also allowed the group to build from that performance with belief they can be the giant slayers in their mercy dash to the finals.

"I think it's a really good opportunity for us. We get to play all these teams that are above us on the ladder and we get to test ourselves against the best because that's what you want to be doing at this time of year," Foran said.

"I'm really excited for [the run home] and can't wait to see what we can do this Friday night against a red-hot Warriors team who've have been one of the in-form teams of the competition.

"I'm also looking forward to the back end of this year. It's going to be really good for us."
