PNG forward commits to Titans for '24

Jacob Alick will remain a Titan in 2024, with the 23-year-old backrower signing an extension to stay on the Gold Coast.

The young forward is coming off a huge 12-month period that has seen him represent Papua New Guinea at the Rugby League World Cup and make his NRL debut with the Titans.

A dream come true: Alick shares excitement of NRL debut

Alick played four games as an interchange forward in his first full season as the top grade, doing enough to earn his place in Des Hasler’s squad for 2024.

He also played a starring role for Burleigh in their run to the Hostplus Cup grand final, scoring 12 tries in 19 games, proving a potent weapon for the Gold Coast side.

Alick was named at second row in the competition's Team of the Year in 2023 for his breakout season with the Bears and will return to pre-season training fresh from representing the Kumuls in the Pacific Championships, set to play in games against Cook Islands and Fiji.
