David Fifita's scintillating form in 2023 was something that was hard to look past... especially by the Titans' loyal Legion.
It's why the rampaging forward was judged the members' most valuable player for the first time since joining the Titans three seasons ago.
In what was arguably his career-best season to date - which helped him extend his time on Gold Coast until the end of 2026 - the 23-year-old finished with eight tries, nine offloads and an incredible 41 offloads... but it was his defence-busting talents that was the real showstopper.
With a whopping 130 tackle breaks across his 22 appearances, Fifita was easily the number one forward in this stat category, but it wasn't just his ability to beat the opposition that turned heads.
The X-factor also assisted in 10 tries across the season, which created many headaches for his opponents... not knowing if he was going to run, pass or be a decoy on the Titans' lethal left edge.
"I'm really grateful to receive the MVP award," Fifita said at the Paul Broughton Medal.
"I thought there were many players before me that were going to receive this award, but thanks to all the members out there for believing in me and the team.
"To receive this award means so much to me, my family, friends and my partner and they are the ones I'd like to thank."
The Origin and International forward always relishes the opportunity to play on the Gold Coast - especially with the Cbus Super Stadium surface being the best for his game; but he also very much enjoys the vocal Titans Legion who support their team at home or abroad.
"Every game we play at Cbus... it's always loud and it's fast track. I love playing there because it suits my style of game," Fifita declared.
"But when we're playing away from home, we always hear the drums beating and the fan base at games.
"The goal is always to fill out the stadium and for us, we've just got to keep winning games and eventually we'll do that."
Fifita got the opportunity to play in front of a full house in 2023 against his former side in Round 7 - the powerhouse admitting the derbies against the Broncos, Cowboys and Dolphins are among his favourite games in the season.
"My favourite games have to be the local derbies," he admitted.
"I like to match our Queensland rivals and my mates... especially when we're playing the Broncos."
