Trial 1 team: Hasler's department of youth to face Dolphins

The Gold Coast’s first hit-out of 2024 will be all about opportunity with 17 uncapped Titans to face the Dolphins at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Turning to youth by featuring seven train-and-trialists and four development rookies who have earned their chance to impress after a tough and gruelling pre-season, the showdown will also see experienced players such as Ken Maumalo and Harley Smith-Shields get their first crack in a Titans jersey.

The duo are two of seven stars who have played NRL before, with 107-game forward Joe Stimson to captain the fresh-faced side against an opposition who have their 'Phins up' coming off a dominant display against the Central Queensland Capras last weekend.

The Legion will be given a glimpse into the next generation of Gold Coast talent with Future Titans alumni Jaylan De Groot, Tom Weaver and Oskar Bryant set to feature in the spine; whilst highly-anticipated forwards Josiah Pahulu, Ryan Foran, Seth Nikotemo and Arama Hau will get their chance up front.

Kick-off is at 5.15pm (AEST) on Sunday at Sunshine Coast Stadium.
