Affiliate wrap: Campbell makes successful comeback via Tweed

Titans fullback Jayden Campbell made a successful return from injury via the Hostplus Cup at the weekend, giving the Gold Coast a huge boost ahead of their Round 4 'Sunshine Showdown' against the Dolphins.

Six months after dislocating his patella in August 2023, the 24-year-old got through the first half without incident, breaking two tackles and making 55 running metres to prove his fitness for a potential NRL return this Saturday.

Although heralding Campbell's return, it was a tough night out for the Tweed Seagulls who went down to cross-town rivals Burleigh Bears 38-12 at Piggabeen.

It was equally not the best weekend for Ipswich, with the Jets going down to defending premiers Brisbane Tigers 24-0 in Sunday in Brisbane.

Both teams will break for the Easter long weekend, before Tweed host the PNG Hunters at home as they chase their first win of 2024.

The Jets aim to return to the winner's circle when they face the Dolphins at North Ipswich Reserve.
