Affiliate wrap: Palasia eyes NRL after successful Cup return

Keenan Palasia will be hoping to rejoin the Titans NRL squad this week after successfully returning via the Hostplus Cup on Sunday.

Getting through 58 minutes in his first game back since a quad injury sidelined the Gold Coast forward on the eve of Round 4, it was a welcomed boost for coach Des Hasler who will relish the availability of the experienced recruit for this Sunday's clash against the Cowboys.

Despite Palasia's return, it was the Wynnum Manly who prevailed against Tweed in the 'Battle of the Fries', winning 40-16 in tough, muddy conditions at Piggabeen.

Fellow Titans affiliate Ipswich also suffered a Round 8 loss on Sunday afternoon, going down to the Northern Pride 56-12.

They'll next travel to Wynnum to face the Seagulls on Saturday.

Tweed will host the Blackhawks.
