Key three: Foz, Origin hopefuls' class not enough to sour hot milk in Canberra

The Raiders have continued their recent dominance against the Titans, claiming a 40-24 victory on a cold and drizzly afternoon at Canberra’s GIO Stadium.

Whilst it wasn't Gold Coast's day, AJ Brimson showed he still has what it takes to star at No. 1; whilst Kieran Foran returned with some classy touches alongside Jayden Campbell in the halves.

Several Origin hopefuls should also be well and truly in the mix ahead of the Maroons being named on Monday morning.

While the result was not one to celebrate, there were some green shoots for Titans fans.

Foz solid in return game

In his return from injury and his first game of 2025, Kieran Foran was straight into the starting side after being named on the pine earlier in the week - the reshuffle seeing AJ Brimson back to No. 1 to accomodate the veteran's comeback.

Brimson looked strong in his old position, with plenty of energy and some nice touches; whilst fellow playmaker Jayden Campbell was also at his explosive best, keeping the Raiders guessing.

Foran also had some good moments in his first game back with a try assist and two line break assists, and will be better for the hit-out as the Titans prepare for a return to Cbus Super Stadium in Round 13 against the Storm.

Origin hopefuls ready for call

The Queensland team will be officially announced on Monday morning by coach Billy Slater, but all three Titans hopefuls did their chances no harm in Canberra.

As is the norm, Tino Fa’asuamaleaui never stopped trying. It was another big game from the Titans skipper with 143 running metres, 41 tackles and a try assist.

Moeaki Fotuaika tried hard in his stints on the field and will be hoping he can add to his Origin tally - even breaking his three-year try drought - while Beau Fermor was again solid on the edge and will be eagerly awaiting by the phone to see if he will make an Origin debut after being one of the Coast's best this season.

Fotuaika breaks try-scoring drought

The back rower continued to impress with another solid performance, especially in defence with 37 tackles.

Home, sweet, home

It’s been a gruelling period on the road, with the Titans not playing in front of a home crowd on the Gold Coast in over a month.

With the bye to come next, it's a welcome return to Cbus Super Stadium as the club’s next game against the Storm on Saturday afternoon in Round 13. An away game against the Broncos follows and then it’s back to the Coast again for a clash against Manly.

After six rounds away, the side is looking forward to coming back home.
