One of the game’s most exciting young talents will call the Gold Coast home long-term, with Keano Kini signing a contract extension with the Titans.

Kini is the reigning Paul Broughton Medallist, having taken the honour after an outstanding 2024 season where he cemented himself as the club’s starting fullback.

The incumbent New Zealand No. 1 finished his schooling on the Gold Coast at Palm Beach Currumbin State High School, before moving through the Titans pathways programs, eventually making his NRL debut in 2023.

Already contracted until the end of the 2026 season, the extension now keeps the 21-year-old on the Coast until the end of 2030.

A debut to remember: Kini

Titans coach Des Hasler said it’s exciting news for Titans fans.

"Keano is still only in the early stages of his NRL career, but he’s already showed that he’s capable of having a huge impact on games," he said.

"He’s already represented his country at an International level.

"Keano’s professionalism and attitude has made him both a valued and well-liked member of the club both on and off field.

"Family is very important to Keano and he and his partner have just welcomed their first child and it’s great that they’ll be able to continue to raise their family here on the Coast."
