Allan Fitzgibbon's fanciful double has helped Ipswich to a commanding 42-12 victory over the Clydesdales as the Titans affiliates eye a top four berth nearing the halfway mark of the Hostplus Cup competition.

The 26-year-old first found the line in only the third minute, before backing it up with another four-pointer from a bomb right on half-time which cemented the Jets' seventh win of the season to now sit equal fourth - just outside the top four due to for-and-against.

Fellow Titans Iszac Fa'asuamaleaui and Josh Patston were strong up front - the pair running for 103 and 119 metres respectively in the clash - whilst Arama Hau and Ben Liyou also contributed in the victory.

They'll now head north to Mackay to face the Cutters on Saturday.

It was a tough clash at Bishop Park for Tweed who had to endure tumultuous conditions in the wet against the Norths Devils - going down 28-14 with a number of their regulars such as Tom Weaver and Jacob Alick-Wiencke playing NRL.

The Seagulls will enjoy a week off with the bye, before hosting the Cutters at Piggabeen in a fortnight.
