The Sea Eagles fly north to the Gold Coast and will be aiming to put the disappointment of their golden point loss to the Knights behind them when they face the Titans.

While Manly let a 16-0 half-time lead slide last week to lose 26-22, the Titans were never in the game against the Broncos in their last match, on the back foot from the get-go in their 44-14 loss.

Injuries have caused major disruptions for both sides this season and this week, the Titans will also be missing two of their best performers with skipper Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and prop Moeaki Fotuaika both out on Origin duty.

The Sea Eagles have no such omissions, with captain Daly Cherry-Evans sensationally left out of the Queensland side. A proud competitor, the halfback will no doubt be seeking to put in a strong performance for his club after they fell short last week.

Having beaten the Cowboys twice and the Broncos, Manly are yet to lose to a Queensland side this season, but should not underestimate a Titans side desperate to turn around their fortunes.

Guided by former Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler, with premiership winner Kieran Foran back on deck, there is even more motivation for the home side to perform in their effort to cause an upset.

Team News

Titans: A boost for the Titans with hooker Sam Verrills cleared to return from a broken hand and coming into the side on Thursday with Sean Mullany making way. With captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and prop Moeaki Fotuaika in camp with the Maroons, Klese Haas starts at lock and Iszac Fa'asuamaleaui joins the bench alongside 26-year-old back-rower Josh Patston on NRL debut. Also coming onto the bench is Tuki Simpkins, who last played NRL in 2021 for Wests Tigers. No further changes in the 60-minute update, with Arama Hau the 18th man.

Sea Eagles: Toafofoa Sipley has come on to the bench in Friday's final team update, replacing Jake Simpkin. Star fullback Tom Trbojevic is on track to make his return from a cork that has been carefully managed by Manly staff in recent weeks. Jason Saab is also set to return from illness, while the Sea Eagles are confident Siosiua Taukeiaho will take his place in the side after overcoming a calf injury. Sea Eagles legend Paul 'Fatty' Vautin will present Reuben Garrick with his jersey as the centre brings up career game No.150. Clayton Faulalo is the 18th man.
