Hostplus Cup journeyman Josh Patston will make his long-awaited NRL debut when the Titans host the Manly Sea Eagles at Cbus Super Stadium on Friday night.

Calling Parkwood home after earning a train-and-trial deal from impressing in the Queensland Cup since 2021, the 26-year-old is one of two players getting the opportunity to wear Gold Coast colours for the first time.

Patston joins promising prop Tukimihia Simpkins on the interchange, who's back in the top grade since 2021 after having previously played five games with the Wests Tigers - promoted to the Titans' development roster this season after being crowned prop of the year in Cup last season.

The pair are part of forward pack reshuffle due to Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and Moeaki Fotuaika being unavailable due to Origin - Jaimin Jolliffe and Klese Haas earning starting jerseys in place of the representative duo.

Iszac Fa'asuamaleaui also earns a recall to the pine to bolster the bench alongside Jacob Alick-Wiencke; whilst Sam Verrills has been named among the reserves as he pushes to recover from a fractured hand - one of nine players currently sidelined in the club's casualty ward.

Kick-off is at 8pm on Friday at Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast.
