Locked in: Verrills given green light for Friday night return
Sam Verrills is set to overcome a hand injury, promoted to the starting side for Gold Coast's Friday night showdown against the Sea Eagles.
Going under the knife a fortnight ago after suffering a fracture in Round 13 against the Storm, the 93-game hooker is eager to be back to help out his Titans teammates in their battle against the boys from Brookvale.
The only change to the 19-man squad ahead of game day, Verrills' inclusion sees Sean Mullany drop out, alongside Ben Liyou and Ryan Foran who have also been trimmed from the reserves.
The clash will also be a special occasion for hard-running forward Josh Patston in his NRL debut, named on the bench alongside Tukimihia Simpkins who makes his first club appearance after five games for the Wests Tigers in 2021.
Kick-off is at 8pm on Friday at Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast.
