Aspiring coaches across the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers will get an invaluable chance to hear from some of the best female rugby league mentors in the game this Friday night.

Kicking off the Festival of Female Footy - which also sees a super Saturday of rugby league headlined by the Titans v Cowboys NRLW trial at 3pm - Titans coach Karyn Murphy will join Cowboys coach Ricky Henry ahead of the clash to provide their perspective in coaching at the elite level, offering a unique opportunity to soak up their experiences and expertise in the women's game.

Murphy's resumé is undisputed - the Hall of Fame inductee represented Australia in 27 Tests as well as 20 games for Queensland before joining the NRL in 2015 as the senior investigator for the game’s Integrity Unit.

During this period, she was also an esteemed assistant with both the Maroons and Jillaroos before transitioning to full-time coaching as the director of female rugby league at the Titans in 2022.

Henry has also achieved immense success as a coach; now at the helm of North Queensland preparing for his second season of NRLW. He also holds the top job at the Kiwi Ferns since 2020 - helping New Zealand to the Rugby League World Cup final in 2022 and steering New Zealand to their emphatic victory against the Jillaroos in 2023.

All coaches across the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers are welcome to attend this coaching workshop - hosted at the Piggabeen Sports Complex from 6.30pm on Friday.
