Locked in: Kini return confirmed against Sharks

Keano Kini will make his NRL return via the bench in Saturday's showdown against the Sharks in Sydney.

Having been sidelined since Round 3 due to a neck injury, the incumbent Kiwi fullback will come back following a lengthy recovery period with Titans medical staff confident he is good to go after a strong 40 minute stint in the Hostplus Cup last week.

Kini is one of three Gold Coast stars returning with captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui also given the all clear from a MCL injury which has kept him sidelined for the past three weeks, alongside Phil Sami who missed last week due to concussion protocols.

As confirmed by Des Hasler on Thursday, Jojo Fifita (ankle) and Klese Haas (family illness) are out of the clash - promoting Jacob Alick-Wiencke to the centres, whilst Tukimihia Simpkins and Tom Weaver remain part of the 19-man squad as reserves.

In what will be the second week of Indigenous Round, the Titans will join alongside the club's NRLW team in wearing a specially-designed jersey by Bundjalung artist Christine Slabb showcasing the key themes of connection, community and belonging.

Kick-off is at 3pm on Saturday - the second of two games at Sharks Stadium, Sydney.
