The Gold Coast Titans have finished their 2027 NRL season with a bang winning 36-28 at Cbus Super Stadium after being down by 16 points at half time.
Here are the key three talking points from the game;
Brimson leads Titans comeback
In a high-scoring affair the Wests Tigers went out to an early lead before the Titans pinned it back to 12-all. The Tigers would again take the ascendency though and shot out to a 28-12 lead at half-time.
Clearly motivated by what they had to play tonight, with two debutants and the retiring Kieran Foran, the Titans came out the better in the second half.
The Titans would be the first to score in the second stanza and it was one-way traffic pretty much from that point on.
Led by man of the match performance of AJ Brimson in the second half, the Titans ran in four answered tries.
Foz farewelled in style
From a special runout featuring his family, to early touches of class, it was clear today that Kieran Foran was here to give 100% - like he always has.
In the 11th minute Foran made a linebreak off a Klese Haas offload, showing there was still speed in old legs. He entered the backfield finding the flying Keano Kini in support before he was cutdown.
He followed this up by gaining his side a nice repeat set off a neat grubber in 21st minute, before showing his silky skills with the ball by firing a sharp pass out to AJ Brimson to score the Titans opening try.
Foran continued to combine brilliantly with his centre Brimson, causing the Wests Tigers right side defence trouble all night, having a hand in four of his sides tries.
After 17 years and 318 NRL games, Foran deserved to go out the winner that he is.
A man who has contributed so much to the game on and off the field, the Titans crowd, and his teammates, wanted to see him go out a winner.
Good Bai, flashes of Gordon
Titans Members and fans were able to take a little glimpse into 2026 with the debuts of former Wallaby Carter Gordon and 18 year old Cooper Bai today.
Gordon played in the centres and after a rocky road due to injury, Titans fans finally got to watch the former No.10 play the 13-a-side game. Going into his second full NRL pre-season Gordon will now have the monkey off his back of making his first grade debut. Whether his future lies in the centres or the halves will be the decision incoming coach Josh Hannay, but he more than showed he was up to the grade in his first outing.
Meanwhile, the crowd roared as Cooper Bai made his NRL and Titans debut in the 51st minute, but that was nothing compared to what was to come minutes later as he chased a kick down field to pick up the loose ball and dive over. The whole of Cbus Super Stadium erupted, only to have it taken from them by the bunker minutes later.
There was a lot to like from the young front rower though as a powerful first hit-up was followed by a linebreak and everything the son of former NRL winger Marcus Bai touched seemed to be creating excitement on the field and in the stands.
Bai would go on to play 29 minutes with six runs, 74 run metres, one linebreak and one disallowed try.
While the Titans NRL side's season comes to an end today, the NRLW team will take on the Newcastle Knights tomorrow looking to confirm a finals berth with one round still to play.
