Lasting legacy: Campbell name remains at Titans 'til '31

The Campbell family legacy will continue to prosper on the Gold Coast with Jayden signing a five-year contract extension to stay a Titan until the end of the 2031 season.

The son of Titans life member and inaugural signing Preston Campbell OAM, the Helensvale Hornets junior has been a fan favourite since his debut in 2021 as one of the Coast’s most exciting prospects, successfully transitioning from fullback to the halves over the past two seasons.

Now 78 games into his career as he begins his sixth season in the NRL, the 25-year-old was one of Gold Coast’s best last season which led to representative honours with the Prime Minister’s XIII, as well as being invited to train with the Queensland Maroons, working alongside new Titans coach Josh Hannay to assist with their Origin preparations.

Knocking back interest from rival clubs to further extend his time on the Gold Coast, his decision reinforces his confidence and desire in continuing to build on his family legacy with full belief in the future of the Titans.

His new deal also reiterates the club’s commitment to building a roster grounded in homegrown talent and long-term stability – joining fellow spine duo Keano Kini and AJ Brimson who have also been locked in until 2030, as well as dynamic edge forward Beau Fermor who also secured his future on Thursday.

"The Titans mean everything to me. They’ve done a lot for me and my family, and I’m stoked to extend my time here for another five years," he said.

"I absolutely love this club and always have since 2007, so I’m honoured to be able to keep playing for the fans who have backed me and my family since day one.

"Staying close to my family and friends and getting to play for my hometown is another big reason why I wanted to extend my time here on the Gold Coast, and I’m really excited about what we’re building under Josh.

"Our community deserves success, and I want to be part of the team that creates history and brings the first premiership to the Coast."

Hannay said Campbell’s re-signing is a major testament for the club’s future.

"Jayden is a generational talent and a huge part of where we’re heading," he said.

"What makes him special isn’t just his ability to break open a game in an instant, but his competitiveness, maturity and his deep connection to the Gold Coast through his family legacy.

"We want to build a team that is a premiership contender for years to come and Jayden is central to that vision.

"I’m stoked he has that desire too and elated he’ll remain a Titan long-term."
