Budding Bilish extends Titans time to 2030

The Titans have retained one of the game's most promising young talents with Jai Bilish signing a long-term contract extension that keeps him on the Gold Coast until the end of 2030.

Impressing in his first NRL pre-season after developing his craft in the club’s pathways program since age 15, Bilish’s new deal will see him upgraded to the Titans’ full-time squad in 2027 before being elevated to the top 30 the following season.

Previously locked in until 2028, the highly touted dummy-half will join the NRL program after his final year of school at Palm Beach Currumbin - currently the Reds captain who has been an integral member of their National Schoolboy Cup team the past two seasons, including playing a part in their title-success in 2024.

Titans director of football Scott Sattler said Bilish’s extension was a significant vote of confidence in both him and the club’s long-term vision under new coach Josh Hannay.

"Jai is exactly the type of player we want to build our future around," he said.

"He’s shown tremendous growth in a short period of time and has a real appetite to learn, improve and do the little things well. That mindset is critical to where we want to go as a club.

"We are in an exciting position where all our key playing positions of a similar age demographic are committing to the club, forming a generational playing group that should energise Titans fans.

"Beyond Jai's ability on the field, he's a terrific person who understands what it means to be part of this club and this community.

"Locking him in until 2030 provides stability for both Jai and the Titans, and we’re excited to see how he continues to develop as part of our playing group over the coming years."

Titans pathways manager Matt Keating is proud of Bilish’s progress to earn a new deal with the club, embodying what the Future Titans program is designed to achieve.

"Jai has been part of our Future Titans system since he could join at 15 and is a great example of what strong pathways and long-term development can produce," he said.

"He’s taken every opportunity presented to him for both his club and school with our long-standing partnership with Palm Beach Currumbin, applied himself at each level and consistently shown a willingness to learn and improve, both on and off the field.

"Our Future Titans program is all about identifying local talent early, supporting their growth and giving them a clear line of sight to the NRL here on the Gold Coast.

"Seeing Jai further commit to the club until 2030 reinforces the belief in our pathways system and sends a strong message to our young players that there is a genuine future for them here at the Titans."

Bilish hails from a rugby league family with his brothers Roko and Ike also part of the Future Titans program.
