Out wide is where moments become memories.
A clean catch under pressure, a try in the corner with millimetres to spare or a 90-metre finish that brings the crowd to its feet.

Heading into the season, the Titans have no shortage of options competing to finish the team’s best work out wide.
From established strike weapons to young flyers pushing their case, eight contenders are jostling for one of the two Round 1 NRL jerseys.
Today’s Team Picker takes a look at the race down the sidelines.
Phil Sami
One of the most experienced outside backs in the squad, Sami’s combination of power, pace and aerial ability makes him a constant threat. He’s proven he can finish chances and handle tough carries out of yardage, which coaches value highly. When he’s fit and firing, he’s hard to leave out.
Allan Fitzgibbon
Continuing to develop his game, Fitzgibbon has impressed with his competitiveness and willingness to do the tough stuff early in sets. While still raw compared to some of the more seasoned names, he’s shown growth and could challenge the incumbents
Jaylan De Groot
Quick, athletic and confident with the ball in hand, De Groot brings genuine speed to the edges. His ability to break tackles and turn half-chances into big gains keeps him firmly in the conversation. A strong pre-season could see him push hard for a regular role. His experience at fullback makes him a safe option under the high ball as well.
Jensen Taumoepeau
Physical and fearless, Taumoepeau offers a different style to the traditional flyer. He thrives on contact, carries strongly out of trouble and doesn’t shy away from defensive work. That reliability can be just as valuable as outright speed.
Jojo Fifita
Few players in the squad can match Fifita’s explosiveness. When he finds space, he’s gone. His footwork and acceleration make him a genuine game-breaker, and he’s shown he can turn momentum in a single play. Whether he features on the wing or centres is your call.
Max Feagai
A powerful outside back who loves the tough carries, Feagai brings strong yardage metres and defensive presence. He’s the kind of winger who helps sets start well and takes pressure off the forwards, with the type of work that often flies under the radar but can win coaches over.
Siale Faeamani
A young prospect with energy to burn, Faeamani continues to develop his all-round game. Coming out of the Penrith system, his effort and willingness to compete make him one to watch as the season unfolds.
Tony Francis
Francis brings versatility and speed, capable of slotting anywhere across the backline. That flexibility is a major asset across a long campaign. If he impresses in trials, his ability to cover multiple roles, combined with NRL experience could secure him a jersey.
There’s still plenty of footy left before the season kicks off, but one thing’s clear, there is battle of strike and speed on the edges.
