Trial 1 team: Ilias headlines fresh faces for Titans' Phintastic first trial
New Titans playmaker Lachlan Ilias will headline 15 fresh faces to wear Gold Coast colours for the first time in Thursday night's first trial against the Dolphins at Kayo Stadium.
The 25-year-old is set to partner rising rookie Zane Harrison in the halves for his first appearance at his new club, with the latter also tipped to be one to watch in his second season after an impressive pre-season.
Among the names is an all-new outside back combination with recruits Max Feagai, Siale Faeamani and Jensen Taumoepeau to join Future Titans alumni Sunny Kama out wide; meanwhile, Luke Sommerton is expected to get solid minutes at dummy-half after making the move from Penrith.
Josh Hannay has opted for some experience up front with Moeaki Fotuaika to captain the team at prop, whilst Sam Verrills has been named on the bench with fellow hooker Oliver Pascoe called up into All Stars.
The new Titans coach has opted to rest the likes of AJ Brimson, Phil Sami, Jojo Fifita, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and Beau Fermor for this week's clash and instead will unleash a full-strength team that also includes the club's All Stars representatives against the Storm on Saturday week.
Kick-off is at 7pm (AEST) on Thursday at Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe.
