Affiliate wrap: Jets flying high on top of Hostplus Cup ladder

Ipswich couldn't be happier with their start to the Hostplus Cup season, sitting atop of the Hostplus Cup ladder after a nail-biting victory over the defending premiers at the weekend.

Pipping Burleigh 18-16 on Saturday, a number of Titans helped the Jets clinch their fourth win of the season, leading from start to finish and holding the fast-finishing Bears at bay despite their best efforts to take home the two points.

Tony Francis was electrifying on the wing, scoring just before half-time before finishing with 194 running metres - 66 of those post-contact - alongside seven tackle breaks and a line break.

They now travel to Papua New Guinea to face the Hunters on Saturday.

Tweed also shared in the spoils with a commanding 36-12 victory over Souths Logan on Saturday, thanks to a Zane Harrison masterclass.

The rising playmaker scored two tries of his own as well as setting up another as he steered his Seagulls to their second win of the season.

Allan Fitzgibbon was also among the try-scorers with a double; whilst Jensen Taumoepeau was also strong on the wing with a four-pointer.

Much like the Jets, the Seagulls are also on the road in Round 6, heading to Mackay to face the Cutters on Saturday.
