Lachlan Ilias has ensured the the Ipswich Jets remain entrenched in the Hostplus Cup top four after a nail-biting 28-28 draw against the Central Queensland Capras on Saturday night.

In an epic 2 v 3 battle in Rockhampton, the Titans playmaker scored the match-defining try, before adding the extras with the boot to leave the scoreboard all locked up after an intense 80 minutes in his first appearance for the Gold Coast affiliate.

The 26-year-old brought his experience as a running threat all night, contributing alongside fellow Titans teammate Jaylan De Groot who was equally impressive in the No. 1 jersey, making 140 running metres, scoring a four-pointer and notching up two line breaks, two try assists and two offloads throughout the night.

Remaining tied second after the weekend, their next assignment is against Tweed in a fortnight - the Seagulls hoping to bounce back after a 28-24 loss to the Clydesdales at the weekend.
