Murphy confirms Jorgensen return; Tunufai joins Titans for '26 season

Rilee Jorgensen is set to make her long-awaited NRLW return from injury, joining fellow young gun Aleksandra Tunufai in the Titans top squad for the 2026 season.

Back after two consecutive back surgeries in successive seasons, Jorgensen has worked tirelessly with Gold Coast performance staff to rehab and be back to full fitness, getting the chance to wear the Titans jersey again in last Saturday’s trial against the Cowboys in Townsville.

A product of the club’s female academy, the 21-year-old has made 12 appearances in the NRLW since her debut in the 2023 season and is hoping to add her tally in her return after being touted as one of the most promising edge forwards in the game before her injury setback.

Tunufai, also 21, has been training with Karyn Murphy’s squad in the pre-season, impressing the Titans head coach to earn herself a NRLW contract after stints with both the Manly Sea Eagles and Brisbane Tigers.

Winning the BMD premiership last season in the centres, the New Zealand-born rising star adds depth to Gold Coast’s NRLW roster with her versatility to also play in the back-row as well as an outside back.

"We're really pleased to welcome back Rilee and have Sandra join our top squad officially," Murphy said.

"They're both talented young players with incredible potential and they have earned their opportunities through their application and commitment our pre-season.

“Rilee’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. She’s faced a number of setbacks and hurdles since being sidelined with injury but to her credit, she’s worked hard to overcome every single one of them and I’m really proud to have her back with us.

"She emerged as an important part of our forward pack at the end of her maiden season and I’m looking forward to helping her get back to that level this year.

"Sandra is a powerful ball runner and has proven to be a handful for defenders to stop. She has shown great skill and versatility and is hungry to keep developing her game.

"She got the chance to be part of our pre-season preparations and has taken that opportunity with both hands to earn an elevation to our supplementary list in our top squad."
