Round 1 team: Murphy confirms positional shake-up for NRLW season opener

Titans coach Karyn Murphy has unveiled her Round 1 team to host the Roosters on Saturday, featuring several positional changes for the season-opening showdown.

Lauren Brown is the only incumbent in Gold Coast's spine, joined in the halves this season by Rugby Sevens convert Teagan Levi who has returned home to make her NRLW debut at five-eighth.

Destiny Mino-Sinapati will wear the coveted No. 1 jersey at the same venue she made her Origin debut at fullback; whilst captain Georgia Hale will begin the clash at hooker with dummy-half dynamo Lily Kolc expecting to provide plenty of impact from the bench.

Evania Isa'ako returns after the birth of her daughter and has been named on the wing; meanwhile, NRLW rookie of the year nominee Phoenix-Raine Hippi has been given the green light from her hamstring injury and will line-up in the centres alongside Jaime Chapman.

Ivana Lolesio has been shifted to the forward pack and will show her versatility at second row together with Takoda Thompson, whilst Sienna Lofipo has been named at lock.

Having won two of their past three games against the tri-colours, Murphy's side will be hoping to start their season off with bragging rights in the first of five games at home in 2026.

Kick-off is at 12.45pm on Saturday at Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast.
