Moeaki Fotuaika has been recognised for his outstanding contribution away from the football field, named in the 2026 NRL Community Team of the Year and shortlisted for the prestigious Ken Stephen Medal.
The honour celebrates players who have made an exceptional impact in their communities, with the 26-year-old's unwavering commitment to supporting young people, grassroots rugby league and the wider Gold Coast earning recognition among the game's best.
Having come through Gold Coast's pathways before making his NRL debut at just 18, Fotuaika has spent a decade with the club and recently became the most capped Titan in Round 12 - surpassing foundation player Mark Minichiello in his 174th appearance.
He was also appointed co-captain alongside Tino Fa'asuamaleaui after showing outstanding leadership, professionalism and influence within the playing group.
While his achievements on the field continue to grow, the Origin and International representative forward has built an equally impressive reputation off it through the genuine and consistent way he gives back to the community.
Across grassroots rugby league clinics, school visits, inclusion initiatives, cultural celebrations and community appearances, Fotuaika continually volunteers his time, approaching every interaction with humility, authenticity and genuine care.
Highly respected within the Pasifika community, he also dedicates time to mentoring the next generation and is currently completing a youth work course, reflecting his passion for creating lasting change in the lives of young people.
"Growing up and being in this NRL environment, the greatest thing you can give to a person is your time," Fotuaika said.
"Whenever I get the opportunity to be in the community, I always want to give my time because we have a massive influence and I definitely know that young kids look up to us.
"It's always important for us players to give back to the game that's given us a lot, including providing for our family and showcasing the talent that we've been gifted with.
"That's been my biggest motivation and I want to give back in any way I can."
Eligible for the Ken Stephen Medal through his selection in the Community Team of the Year, the 2026 fan vote will open on Monday.
