Gold Coast centre Jaime Chapman certainly had an impact in her side's thumping 36-10 win over the Bulldogs at Accor Stadium as she bagged the first tour-try haul of her career.

She became the fifth NRLW player to achieve the feat after Roosters winger Taleena Simon in the competition's inaugural season in 2018, Mele Hufanga in 2023 and 2024 for the Broncos, Teagan Berry (Dragons) in 2023, Emma Verran (Sharks) in 2025 and Tamika Upton (Broncos) in 2025.

Chapman’s acceleration and ability to break tackles will have Eels players on high alert at Cbus Super Stadium this Sunday.

The visitors will have to handle the left-side combination the Titans centre is enjoying with her skipper and halfback Lauren Brown, who set up two of Chapman’s four tries with smart short kicks.

“I think Lauren, the way she runs our team, is so knowledgeable and smart,” Chapman told NRL.com.

NRLW Best Moments - Round 2

“She can quickly react to anything that comes her way.

“Lauren’s kicking game is the reason why we are on-point and got repeat sets. She is a standout for me, and I am really happy to have her as my half.

“This year has a different feel; obviously going down with a loss last week, we came back and flipped it around.

“I value all my team-mates and we have a sisterhood that feels like no other. I am really proud of my girls.”

Bulldogs v Titans – Round 2, 2026

Chapman spoke of her eagerness to knuckle down and continue this consistency by the Titans after their disappointing 34-10 loss to the Roosters in Round 1.

“We will now fix our focus on the Eels; we will not be complacent and knuckle down on the next job ahead," she said.

But it’s hard not to pause and take in Chapman’s first four-try game. She has scored six hat-tricks so far – one for Australia against France in the 2022 World Cup, one with the Sharks in NSW Women’s Premiership in 2019 and four in the NRLW since making her debut in 2020.

As well as scoring nearly half of her side’s 36 points last Saturday, she clocked up the most metres with 184 off 10 runs, two line breaks, a try assist and the most tackle busts with seven, pipping Evania Isa’ako and Sienna Lofipo (both six).

The game showed what Karyn Murphy’s side can bring to the NRLW this season after they try to replicate what they did to reach the 2023 grand final, where Chapman bagged a hat-trick in a 24-18 loss to the Knights.
