An epic school holiday showdown awaits Gold Coast's Future Titans Under 18s squad when they face the Cowboys on Thursday.
Kicking off at the Piggabeen Sports Complex from midday, the next generation will be out to impress in a North Queensland derby with some of the best young talent on display.
Culminating a big last fortnight of pathways matches with the club's Under 16 program facing the Wests Tigers, Cowboys and Knights in recent weeks.
Titans.com.au has identified several Future Titans players to watch in the Under 18 clash:
Troy Ellis
Ellis is a player to keep firm eyes on after recently finishing his time at Keebra Park State High School. The talented teen has the ability to cover both the second row and middle forward positions; with his leg speed, work rate and ability to continually compete making him a valuable contributor. Gold Coast pathways staff look forward to watching him in the upcoming match and continuing to develop him within the program over the coming years.
Mordecai Ngawati
The exciting outside back has enjoyed a breakout year across the Mal Meninga Cup and schoolboy competitions, possessing a strong ability to break tackles and generate momentum through powerful carries. His defensive work has also been impressive with his ability to defend one-on-one on his edge, combined with his physicality and competitiveness. His skills on both sides of the ball makes him a player capable of having a significant impact on Thursday's game.
