Gold Coast Titans lock-forward Cooper Bai has been ruled out of the World Cup due to injury.

The Titans and Kumuls forward sustained a hamstring injury completing off-season training in preparation for a likely World Cup berth.

Bai will instead now return for the club's pre-season training in November after a break.
