Titans stars ready for Rugby League World Cup

The World Cup is here. And the Titans are everywhere.

The 2026 Rugby League World Cup kicks off in Sydney tonight, with Titans players and one assistant coach spread across eight squads in the men’s and women’s tournaments.

Over the next month the tournament will be played in Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Townsville, Perth, Christchurch, Port Moresby and at home on the Gold Coast, with both finals to be at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday 15 November.

NRL Captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui will start at prop for the Kangaroos in tonight's opener against New Zealand, where Keano Kini is named at number 19 for the Kiwis.

AJ Brimson will wear the white of England, coached by Titans assistant Brian McDermott, and his first opponent is fellow Titans centre Jojo Fifita and Tonga in Perth on Saturday night.

Earlier on Saturday, Tony Francis will play on the wing for Lebanon in Port Moresby, alongside future Titan Mikael Ibrahim, whose sister Sienna made her NRLW debut for the club against the Sharks this season.

In the women’s tournament, Jaime Chapman lines up for the Jillaroos, Georgia Hale for the Kiwi Ferns and Lorren Ieli for Fiji.

Meanwhile, Samoa’s squad is full of Titans, with Sarina Masaga, Jasmine Solia,  Pauline Piliae-Rasabale, Laikha Clarke, Evania Isa’ako, Ivana Lolesio, Fanua Rimoni and Destiny Mino-Sinapati all named.

Those Titans teammates will play against each other on Friday night, when Chapman’s Jillaroos take on Samoa in the women’s opener.

Cbus Super Stadium hosts World Cup football on Saturday 31 October, when Kini and Hale could both play at the home of the Titans.

All matches are live and free on Channel 7 and 7plus.
