Gold Coast Titans centre, Sarina Masaga has been forced to withdraw from the Rugby League World Cup after picking up an injury in the first round.

The Samoa international went down in her side's opening match against Australia without any contact.

Masaga has subsequently had scans on an injured Achilles tendon, with the club awaiting results before determining a course of rehab.
