Four young Country players had the opportunity to don the mighty Titans jumper over the weekend by playing in the Gold Coast/Titans U17 Development squad trial against the Northern Rivers CRL Academy held at Cudgen.

Titans Elite Player Development Unit Manager Jamie McCormack said the young players had been given the opportunity to play in the trial as a reward for their outstanding effort in programs being run in Armidale and Inverell.

Players that where given the opportunity were John Boy Quinlan (Armidale), Greg Press (Armidale), Mitch Lennon (Inverell) and Dan Johnson (Inverell).

“All players were very impressive and showed good talent and would be monitored in the future,'' said McCormack.

The North West NSW area has produced some outstanding talent including Titan great Preston Campbell (Tingha) and the Titans are very happy to continue providing opportunities for young players in that area.
