iSelect Titans players today will wear yellow armbands in honor of a special young man when they run out to take on the Canterbury Bulldogs at Cbus Super Stadium in their last match of the season.

Yellow is the favourite color of eight-year-old Martin, a Titans fan from Coolum on the Sunshine Coast, who will be at home watching the match, sadly unable to attend because he has an inoperable brain tumor.

His story has touched the hearts of thousands around the world, including many of the Titans players.

In July last year, Sam was diagnosed with stage three adult-type fibrosarcoma but after 13 rounds of chemotherapy and seven weeks of radiation therapy, the treatments had little effect on the tumour growing in his left cheek.

His parents Mark and Tanya Martin and older sister Ella, 10, have been overwhelmed by the support shown from people worldwide including the Netherlands, Malaysia, Canada, London and Denmark.

“Ever since Sam was born he has had a certain likeability to him, one of those truly magnetic personalities,” he told the Sunshine Coast Daily.

'It is heartening to see even through all this he has maintained that quality, as is evident by the outpouring of love from everyone.”
