Head Coach Garth Brennan has confirmed that he’s ‘toying’ with the idea of shifting Ryan James from the front row, out to the edge back row position.
The Titans have been back training for just under three weeks and Brennan has had a number of discussions with the local junior about his future in the side.
“I’m still toying with a couple of guys and a couple of different positions,” Brennan said. “Ryan James is someone I’m thinking of playing on an edge.
“I know he’s done it a lot in the past and he played a lot there as a junior.
“I think Kev (Proctor) has been into him to grow his ‘fro’ back and they can be the ‘fro bros’ on the edges.”
With the potential shift, Brennan is confident there are enough forward stocks to fill the void.
“If he does, then we’ll look at our recruitment but we’ve got some good forward stocks.
“There is Brenton Lawrence, Jarrod Wallace, Morgan Boyle, Jack Stockwell, Max King and Jai Arrow, who are all middles.”
