Tickets for the TFH Gold Coast Titans Round 3 match against the St George Illawarra Dragons on Sunday, 25 March, at Clive Berghofer Stadium have gone on-sale to the general public today.
The first ever NRL Telstra Premiership game to be played in the region will be an historic event for the area and tickets are expected to sell quickly, so all fans are encouraged to get in early to avoid disappointment.
The match will see one of the region’s favourite sons, Ash Taylor, take to the field that he played on growing up, which is sure to excite the locals.
“It’s very exciting for me and very exciting for our team to head out to where I did all my schooling,” Taylor said.
“It’s the first ever NRL competition match to be played in the area so hopefully all the locals and people from surrounding areas come out to watch all the action.”
TFH Titans General Manager of Membership & Community, Chris Knell is looking forward to tickets being on-sale.
“Given the historic nature of this event there really isn’t any precedent to guide us,” Knell said. “It’s very important that the process is fair to everyone and given we just don’t know how quickly tickets will sell we will be managing the available inventory – especially the reserved seats in the venue – very carefully.
“This may mean that additional capacity will be released in the days following on-sale, it really just depends on the reaction once the tickets are made available.
“The best advice is to make sure you are ready to buy through the Ticketek website or their call centre (132 849) at 9am on Thursday morning. The club will of course make sure that our website and social media feeds are kept updated to ensure everyone is fully aware of what is happening with tickets to what promises to be a terrific event for the city.”
Minister for Tourism Industry Development Kate Jones said Queensland is the home of rugby league and this match will draw NRL fans from across the region.
“Local businesses will benefit from the influx of fans and this match will reinforce Toowoomba’s position as a leading regional events destination.
“Events play an important role in promoting Queensland’s destinations, supporting jobs, attracting tourists and fostering pride in the local community.”
Tickets are on-sale to the general public from 9am, 15 February and are available through www.titans.com.au/ticket
