DON: I feel ready

Winger Anthony Don has had an off-season to forget but since returning in the new year, has made every post winner, with the aim of being out on Cbus Super stadium this Sunday afternoon.

An infection after post-season surgery stalled his return to training but the Grafton junior has been diligent in his approach to his recovery and is a likely starter for round one.

"The shoulder is feeling good," Don said. "I've made some good steps forward but I've still got a couple of sessions to get  through.

"I've done a few heavy contact sessions last week but it needs to be right to run into defenders and make those tackles."

The 30-year-old is keen to be out there in round one after a strong 2017.

"The pre-season has definitely been tough. Everyone wants to be out there in round one, so hopefully I get through the next few days and can be out there."
