The dreaded hamstring brought Dale Copley's season to an end prematurely in season 2018 but with the recovery traveling well, the centre is now looking at having a program set-up to help prevent the issue continuing into the future.

It was in Round 17 at Cbus Super Stadium against the Brisbane Broncos that Copley went down and due to the severity, the Aspley junior was ruled out for 8-12 weeks, ending his season.

It is an injury that has struck a number of times throughout his career and the frustration is there for everyone to see.

"I wish I had an answer," Copley said. "It's one of those things that happened and it'd be great if I was able to know why.

"I just need to ensure that a program is put together over the summer to make sure that the hamstring is in as good a shape as it can be for next season."

When Copley returns for pre-season training the goals are clear.

"I'd really like to get through each session. You always need a good pre-season and it's funny how much you notice it when you've missed long periods of training.

"It will be good to come in each day and put in the work. I'll be looking to have a program to be used as a preventative measure rather than reacting after the fact."
