The return of Tyrone Roberts has been hampered by a frustrating injury, keeping the 27-year-old off his feet during his first week back as a Titan.

Roberts returns to the club after one season playing for Warrington Wolves in the English Super League and managed to bring back a toe injury, commonly known as 'turf-toe'.

"I've been part of the rehab group," Roberts said. "I injured my toe in the Grand Final overseas.

"I've been doing a bit of rehab and should be back running in the next couple of weeks.

"I tore the ligament in my big toe. I don't need surgery and I can't wait to start running."

The Ballina product has been back on the Coast for the past month but wasn't required for his first day of training until this week. After a year away, he is keen to earn back that number six jersey.

His quest to earn it back will be halted by the injury but also his week of work at QT Gold Coast.

"It's been great, something a bit different. I'm not really used to behind the desk work, I'm a bit more of an outdoors guys. It's good to see what happens behind the scenes at QT."
