Taylor undergoes minor shoulder surgery

Titans halfback Ash Taylor this week underwent minor shoulder surgery, with the 23-year-old to be on restricted training duties for the next three weeks.

The St. George product has had pain in his left shoulder and the decision was made to have the minor operation done now.

Taylor will now be unavailable for the All Stars fixture on Friday, 15 February and is expected to be available to play in the club's final trial against the Brisbane Broncos on Saturday, 2 March at Cbus Super Stadium.

Coach Garth Brennan supported the decision to have the surgery done now.

"Whilst it's not the perfect time to have it done, it's obviously better than him carrying the injury throughout the season," Brennan said.

"He definitely could've played with the shoulder concern but it's better to have him going at 100% when the season kicks off."
