As part of the Titans ‘Back to Juniors’ round, all Gold Coast Titans players will wear the socks of their junior rugby league club when they take on the Panthers at Cbus Super Stadium on Friday night.

Whether it be Shannon Boyd wearing his Cowra Magpies colours, or local Jai Arrow in the maroon and white of Burleigh Bears, each player will proudly don the colours of the club they represented.

It is an initiative the club has supported for a number of years, and aside from the pleasure the group have in representing the region they came from, it also promotes junior rugby league and helps encourage all kids to become junior rugby league players.

Captain Ryan James will proudly wear the socks of his Bilambil Jets on Friday night.

“We’re all proud of where we came from, and to be able to show it off during an NRL match is great,” James said.

“We all grew up playing rugby league, and we all have a lot of people to thank for getting us to where we are today.

“I spent 12 years at the Bilambil Jets, and it’s where I spent a lot of my time growing up. The memories and friendships I gained will be with me for the rest of my life.

“We want to promote junior league, and we want all Gold Coast kids to join a junior club and know that they could one day become a Titan.”
