Round 5 of the NRL Titans School Boys Competition was played on Wednesday 22nd May across the Gold Coast. In the Titans Cup, Marymount College backed up their dominant win over Keebra Park SHS in round 4 by defeating Beenleigh SHS 24-6.

In the other Titans Cup clash Keebra Park SHS skipped out to an early 10-0 lead before a fast finishing Aquinas College hit back through a converted try. Unfortunately Aquinas left their chase too late and end up falling short 10-6. Trinity College remain undefeated by downing a brave Loganlea SHS team 16-0 in the Titans Trophy division.

Meanwhile Varsity College recorded an upset win against Marymount College 16-10 to mark their first victory of the competition. St Francis College, Beenleigh SHS, Keebra Park SHS and Marymount College all managed solid victories over their opponents in the Titans Shield division.

The upset of the round went to Trinity College who defeated Forest Lake SHS 12-10 in a tight tussle. There were some more classy results in the Titans Challenge with Stretton College, Marymount College, Windaroo Valley SHS and Coombabah SHS out playing their opponents on the field.

Chisholm College faced the more experienced Beenleigh SHS team and put in a valid performance but in the end went down 24-4. The final round of the competition kicks off on Wednesday 29th May with teams fighting to secure a crucial semi finals spot.
