Sunny smiles outshone some gloomy skies as hundreds of Gold Coast kids came together to celebrate their love of rugby league at the Titans School Holiday Junior Coaching Clinic at Pizzey Park.
Boys and girls from across the Gold Coast took to the field at the home of the Burleigh Bears with their NRL heroes from the Titans to learn new skills, make new friends and have a lot of fun playing rugby league.
The entire Titans NRL squad was on hand for the clinic on their day off to put back into the Gold Coast community that supports the club, and to encourage the boys and girls who will be the Titans of tomorrow.
The Titans players and NRL development staff ran a series of drills and exercises, where the emphasis was on fun, working as a team and improving individual skills.
Titans centre Jesse Arthars was one of the NRL stars helping out on the day, and said he understood how excited the local kids are about having the chance to train and have some fun with the professional footballers – because he used to be one himself.
“It is a good opportunity for the NRL players to get out here among the younger guys and show our faces and help them out with some drills and stuff like that,” Arthars told titans.com.au. “It is good for us to give back to the younger community.
“I was a Gold Coast junior, and when these days used to come around, I was always here and playing around with my favourite players coming up.
“It is good, and I am sure all these younger kids would appreciate us coming down. It is something we like to do.”
We have successfully launched our latest clinic created specifically for people living with disabilities.
All Abilities is an inclusive community program that teaches the sport we love to everyone that wants to share our passion.
Engaging programs like the All Abilities program that make a difference to people in our community are the cornerstone of our fundraising initiative, the Titans Community Kick-In, which aims to help the people in our community who need it the most.
